Organovo, a San Diego biotech firm specializing in regenerative medicine successfully created a process for printing blood vessels. Organovo is hoping blood vessels are just the beginning. Next stop? Printing full organs.

The blood vessels can be made from an individual’s own cells, meaning they’d be less likely to be rejected and the transplant patient won’t need long-term treatment with immuno-depressants.

Now, Organovo’s story in and of itself is pretty fascinating, and could mean a ridiculous advance for medical science.

But man, just think of the origin story just waiting to happen.

Let’s just say that Peter P. over has some kind of lab mishap. Maybe exposure to some rapidly growing stem cells? “Pete, that’s not your Slurp… NOOOOO!!!!!!”

I’m thinking regeneration and the ability to shoot some kind of vessel tendril would definitely be on the list of powers.

What else? Leave a comment below.

The Ostoure (“legend” in Persian) is all concept, and all amazing.

Designed to be 2wd, the bike needs two differentials to manage getting the power to both wheels. Because of this, the designer expects problems fitting in a standard sized radiator and has added two additional ones on either side of the boke.

Steering, inidcators, music, and all other on-board controls will be managed by an integrated helmet Heads-Up-Display, and we’re guessing voice commands, that connects via bluetooth to the bikes central computer.

If you’re a billionaire playboy with a score to settle, I’m sure the designer can be convinced to produce a one-off prototype.

You can find him, and more images of the Ostoure, here.

Nor is the Red Planet the kind of place you want to be without a fully-charged array of sensors or communications devices.

As we’ve seen in the recent issues of Secret Avengers Mars is full of baddies, and not so full of opportunities to charge your gear.

Enter the Wrist Charger.

Stylish enough to go with any costume, the Wrist Charger extends the battery life of your hand-held electronic devices.

Cell phones, MP3 Players, games, or anything powered by mini-USB can use the juice these handy little wrist bracers provide.

Then, when you get home, charge them back up and you’re ready for your next trip.

It’s filled with weapons, sensors, gadgets, and likely an espresso machine. This superhero ride rises above all others.

But, the feature that makes it truly useful is, when Batman is getting the stuffing kicked out of him by some goons, with the push of a button it powers up, puts the pedal to the medal and comes and saves his bacon.

Well, scientists have gotten another step closer to putting that technology into the hands of modern superheroes.

I give you the VisLab project. Ok, ok, I know. It’s an orange van.

Although, I could see it being driven by Animal Man.

Point being, the VisLab project based out of the University of Parma, Italy is undergoing an amazing road test. They’re driving the Silk Road, from Rome, Italy to Shanghai China, completely without a human driver.

They’re out to prove that it’s possible, using current technology to autonomously move goods over long distances with non-polluting technology. Oh, that’s right. The thing is electric and that goofy rack up top is a solar panel.

So, while you might not want to count of the VisLab project to come in, guns a blazing when you’re down and out, with a little creative tinkering you could have a super sweet automated ambulance.

“St. Mercy Hospital please , VisLab. And step on it!”
