Western people are the most free in the world. They were brought up in wealthy countries with governments that aren´t overthrown every other year and their passports allow them to travel almost all around the world.
Life for western people could be living a life without limits, only regulated by the law.
But for some reason western people are always unhappy. They literally never stop complaining about everyone and everything. But they never change something in their lives, either.
Why is this?
Because western people let society put limits on themselves. Imagine you were free to go wherever you wanted and do what you love everyday.
Actually, you don´t have to imagine that. If you were born in Europe, the USA or Canada you could be literally living your life without limits.
The limits about how you should behave in a relationship, at your job or in public are all in you head. They are not real. If you just decide to drop them you could be living freely.
If you want to be in a relationship with three women and two men at the same time you are free to do it. If you want to live your passion and become a painter on a unicycle with green hair you are free to do it. If you don´t want to spend time with your family on thanksgiving you are free to do it. If you want to travel the world and blog about it you are free to do it.
The law is not stopping you. It is only society´s expectations and the limits you put on yourself that´s holding you back. You are your own worst enemy when it comes to living freely.
If you truly wish to travel the world you will find a way to make it happen. If you don´t your desire wasn´t strong enough. If you fail you try again. And again. And again. Because that´s what superheroes do. They don´t listen to the nagging voice in their head trying to hold them back.
Putting limits on yourself and taking the path society wants you to take will not lead to a happy life unless that´s what you desire to do.
Beyond the limits waits the life you always wanted to live. You need courage to free yourself from other people´s expectations but it will be worth it, I promise.
