Sugar Free June: Introduction

During the last month I noticed that I really am addicted to sugar. I needed a sweet treat in the afternoon or I felt like I was going insane. Often, the one treat turned into a whole container of ice cream. I also noticed eating that much sugar will sabotage my journey to build the body of a superhero. So I decided to quit eating sugar for 30 days.

Sugar provides no nutrients and ruins your teeth at the same time. The body breaks down simple sugars in no time, causing the insulin levels to spike and crash shortly after. That leaves you hungry even if your body has enough energy to function well. Diabetes and obesity are consequences of consuming too much sugar.

That´s why the whole month of June will be sugar free for me. No sweets, no artificial sweeteners, no white bread or pasta, no fruit, no yogurt. While fresh fruits and yogurt are not bad for you they still contain sugar I want to cut out for a month.
